About the event

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) wants to hear from you about climate action in your community!

DEP is asking for your input as it develops a Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP) using funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant Program.

DEP is administering the CPRG Program funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which provides grants to local governments to implement projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other air pollutants.

As a part of our engagement process, DEP plans to host meetings in communities around the state to convene with residents, learn about their needs and climate concerns, and incorporate their priorities into its PCAP so that communities can access climate action funding in later phases of CPRG. Public outreach will begin in Fall 2023 and continue through the end of the CPRG Planning Phase in 2027.

DEP invites you and those in your network to attend the in-person engagement session slated for 6 p.m. Dec. 4 at Clairton City Hall (551 Ravensburg Boulevard, Clairton, PA 15025). Interested in attended? Register here.

Can't make the in-person session. No worries, DEP will host a statewide virtual session at 6 p.m. Dec. 14. Register here.

Please note that you don't have to attend ANY of these sessions in order to weigh in. DEP is also accepting feedback through its Climate Strategy Opinion Survey Platform.

For more information about the CPRG program, please visit DEP’s Inflation Reduction Act webpage. To learn more about climate change in Pennsylvania and what steps we can take to fight it, please see DEP’s Climate Change webpage.
