GASP has kept a close eye on the steel industry, including our region's coke plants and steel mills, since 1969. From reviewing permits, to reporting on enforcement and legal actions, to conducting smoke reading on stack emissions, our work reflects the substantial impact this industry has on air quality. Facilities like Clairton Coke Works, Edgar Thomson Works, and others continue to be a primary focus of our watchdog work.
