About the event
You're invited to attend a virtual sustainability salon focusing on regional air quality issues. Featured speakers for the event slated for 4 p.m. Sunday include:
- GASP's Executive Director Patrick Campbell will share developments about our education, advocacy, watchdog activities, and legal action.
- Caroline Mitchell, engineer, attorney, and Allegheny County Board of Health member will talk about the legal framework within which local and state air-quality regulators operate, and its implication for enforcement actions.
- Melanie Meade, a Clairton resident who has lived with, and spoken out about, local air for decades. She'll share some of her family's story, and ways she and others are working to address the problems in collaboration with local air quality groups.
For the uninitiated, the Sustainability Salon is a monthly educational forum led by local environmental advocate and GASP board member Maren Cooke. She says to expect an environmental theme, guest speakers, "stimulating conversation, and lively debate."
