Allegheny County Air Quality Program
GASP believes the county would be doing a great disservice to its citizens if it were to dismantle the local air quality program. Allegheny County has some of the most intense sources of pollution in the United States, unique river valley topography, and non-attainment areas separate from the rest of Pennsylvania. Thus we need a strong, active, and local air quality agency promulgating and implementing regulations specifically tailored to the problems unique to our airshed. Additionally, GASP strongly values the local public participation afforded to all through the various air quality subcommittee and Air Pollution Control Advisory Committee meetings.
