Dr. Isaac Porche, whose diverse projects at RAND include automotive technology and military communication networking, will review recent RAND studies into hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles, and hydrogen power. He will anticipate the coming showdown for supremacy among hybrid-electrics, plug-ins, hydrogen fuel cells, diesel power, other alternative fuels, and other solutions. He will also present for discussion competing transportation solutions aimed at anticipating and satisfying consumer demand.

One of Pittsburgh’s newest energy technology firms will soon deliver a substitute for diesel fuel from a cutting-edge plant on Neville Island. This synthetic diesel fuel doesn’t pollute lungs, air, ground, or water. Capital Technologies International has co-developed production technology to be faster, less expensive, and safer in delivering a truly renewable fuel that uses vegetable oils or animal fats as its source. Pennsylvania’s first commercial producer of clean burning biodiesel fuel promises to earn its stripes as the Biodiesel Factory of the Future.
